Here is some recent feedback from listeners and their families:

February 2026

Wonderful story about the “Bees” after their owner has died. Also, the lion on tins of Golden Syrup! And yes, I did check mine – thank you for such an interesting article. Peter Rabbit too was a lovely story to listen to.

I really enjoyed last week’s edition ofTCL.  I found Steve’s article about Gloria Gaynor really interesting. I also like Steve’s smooth voice! David’s interview with Michael Payne was fascinating. Many thanks!

Mrs R

Well, the weather for 2026 so far hasn’t been brilliant, BUT your memory sticks have been! – so much to learn from each one, from Morris Dancing, 12 days of Christmas and especially Wilfred the amazing whistling pig – delightful story.  Your hard work is much appreciated and thank you.

December 2025

Some very interesting features – The exercise Soundings were clear and hopefully done by many people listening. The witch’s kitchen made me laugh as I’ve been making my own Seville marmalade for 50 years! And I had a black cat – “hahaha!” Thank you!

Mrs S

Thanking you all for your wonderful work over the last year bringing such pleasure to us all. Very much appreciated. Thanks to Terry (TNF) for the very useful exercises – great idea!

November 2025

I really enjoy listening and look forward to it arriving on the Friday. My husband and I binge listen on the Saturday. This week I particularly like the article about Tewkesbury. It was the first place I lived in on arrival to this country after being in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe for many years.

Mrs deG

I found Margaret’s interview with Mark really inspiring and loved her chatting with him about his achievements in sailing and music. If TCL hadn’t done an outside broadcast from Westonbirt we wouldn’t have had the honour of meeting Mark. What a star he is. I also enjoyed the article about The Magic Roundabout. I have fond memories of that.

Mrs R

Many thanks for the “great listen” this week. What an amazing interview with Margaret and Mark Austen – so inspiring for everyone – I was enthralled – unforgettable. Many thanks.

October 2025

Very interesting articles – especially regarding woods and trees – enjoying
the murder mystery too. Thank you.

You’ve done it again! What a super issue and especially the magazine plus. I have been an obsessive fan of Kipling since before I could read so I was hooked once again. And I have truly lost count of the number of times that I have heard “If” recited, but none better than this -so thank you so much.

Mr R

I really enjoyed the article about the Bayeaux Tapestry that Margaret read out.

I was lucky enough to visit Bayeaux and see it for myself about 50 years ago when I could still see normally. It inspired me to draw out a small section and my mother embroidered it. I still have that embroidery. It’s 3 feet long!

Many thanks for continuing to send me your memory stick which I look forward to and enjoy every week.  I particularly enjoyed the recent reading by Margaret about the way recipes have changed over the years.

Mrs T

Just to say a big thank you for being able to listen to these fabulous sticks – so full of information. Some lovely and interesting stories especially about the beavers, hedgehogs and the sounds of birds. Thank you.

Mrs C

July 2025

Thank you for a great “listen” this week. So pleased to be able to take part in the CL Tea Party – what a lovely surprise as I was unable to join you “on air”.

Mrs McC

Thank you to Margaret for reading out the magazine article about Dads Army. It’s amazing how popular the program still is.

I did help with the setting up of the first Dads Army collection at Bressingham Steam Museum near Diss in Norfolk and getting to know the cast very well. That’s a story for another time maybe.

I also enjoyed the interview with Olga Hopkins and her memories of her time in the WAAF. Even at 93 her recall of events was incredible.

Mrs R

June 2025

Thank you so much for all the pleasure you have and are bringing me weekly.  I look forward to it every week and am grateful for your amazing work on our behalf.

Mrs T

What a wonderful Listener this week and especially the recording of the tea party.  I felt I was almost there and how I enjoyed the jokes and poems. Thank you for all the pleasure and enjoyment the Listener has brought me.

April 2025

I really enjoyed listening to Colin Bakers memories about the cars his family has had. It brought back memories for me too as I remember our Hilman Minx, Morris Oxford and Ford Consul cars. I don’t remember the number plates though.

I also enjoyed David’s podcast about Aliens even though I am not a believer in “little green men” I do believe that there may be some sort of life form out there.

Mrs R

Dear team, thank you so much for your “Birthday greeting” this week – a wonderful surprise and very much appreciated. Another very enjoyable “listening stick” – a big Thank you.” and with an Easter card again in April” another interesting week”

Mrs McC

March 2025

Just a line to say how much I have enjoyed my first Cotswold Listener memory stick contents. Thank you all so much and your kindness and help – very much appreciated.
