Tewkesbury Stitch Story

Last year, Margaret visited the Tewkesbury Heritage centre to see the “Stitch Story”, a 6 metre-long tapestry which pictures significant – and not so significant – events and characters in the history of the town. There she talked to the project’s directors, Jo Teague and Megan Dunford, and recorded the conversation for an outside broadcast for our listeners.

Over 8000 residents contributed stitches to the tapestry. Among the characters pictured are a Town Crier, an American millionairess, a GI soldier, an Antarctic explorer and a three legged ginger cat called Bob.
