In this recent outside broadcast, Margaret visits the Holst Museum, which is hosting an exhibition, Making, Marking, Mending, highlighting the local institution which taught orphans from “respectable” families how to sew and mend – and prepared them for a life “in service”.
Co-curator Jo Teague relates the history of the Asylum, describes the lives of its inmates and shows Margaret some of their amazing work.
