Margaret and June recently visited the Archery club off the Shurdington Road. They learned the pros and cons of longbows, barebows, recurve bows and compound bows and talked to some of the members. The club takes pride in welcoming members with disabilities including wheelchair users and those with visual impairments. We meet one member, a stroke victim paralysed down his right side, who successfully uses a compound bow using his left hand and arm, a shoulder harness and a release mechanism operated by a clothes peg held between his teeth!
